Psywell Counselling Office
Our office is located in a quiet courtyard in central London, which is the place chosen by the consultants under advisement. Our address is Staple Inn, High Holborn, London, UK, WC1V 7QH.
1. Staple INN
First established in 1285, Staple Inn has been expanded and developed over the past 800 years to become a prestigious professional community for medical and legal services in London and across the UK.
Staple Inn Main Entrance
When you exit Chancery Lane Station from the third exit, you'll see a striking Tudor building in black and white. The entrance to the Staple Inn courtyard is through the old wooden door next to Sanford Jewellery.
Staple Inn Courtyard
As you walk through the main entrance, you'll find yourself in the serene Staple Inn courtyard. The area is filled with trees and benches, offering a peaceful retreat for those living in the bustling city.
Staple Inn Garden
If you continue further into Staple Inn, you'll discover a beautiful rear garden.
Consultation Room Entrance
Upon entering the main gate of Staple Inn, take a right. The building at the far end houses our consultation rooms.
The Scientific Decoration
Both consultants and visitors have different needs and perceptions of space. Psywell helps visitors to have a comfortable healing experience by ensuring a warm and safe environment from every detail.
Seating Arrangement
0-15 Degree Angle: In the PSYWELL counselling room, the chairs of the counsellor and the client are not directly facing each other, but are set at a 10-15 degree angle. This arrangement ensures that the seating is non-confrontational.
1.5 Metre Distance: The distance between the client and counsellor is typically around 1.5 metres. This spacing provides a comfortable communication distance, maintaining a safe boundary that neither feels intrusive nor too distant.
View of the Door: The client's chair is positioned so they can directly see the door, which enhances their sense of security, control, and autonomy.
Interior Materials
Wooden Decor: PSYWELL has chosen natural wood materials for the room's decor, as the texture and natural colour of wood create a comfortable atmosphere.
Carpet: A carpet is placed over the wooden floor in the counselling room to soften the space, reducing the potential intensity of too much wood and adding a warm, human touch.
Soft Colours: The walls are painted in soft, light colours such as light blue, pale green, or beige. These neutral tones help create a calm and emotionally balanced environment.
Lighting Brightness
In the PSYWELL counselling room, clients have the freedom to adjust the lighting according to their preferences. The counsellor will ask for the client's input to set the light level. This attention to detail reflects our commitment to respect and empowerment, encouraging clients to express their needs throughout the session.
Scents, Art, and Comfort Toys
Discussing heavy topics can be exhausting and make clients feel vulnerable. To offer a break from difficult conversations, the room features calming elements like tranquil artwork, flickering candlelight, and comforting toys. These "positive distractions" can provide a brief respite and help clients regain their composure.
