Child & Adolescent Individual Counselling

Individual Counselling for Children & Adolescents provides emotional, behavioural, relational, and developmental support for children and young people. Therapy is tailored to each child's age, developmental stage, communication style, and individual needs.
Unlike adults, children often express themselves through play, art, stories, movement, and symbolic expression, rather than words alone. Depending on the child's needs, therapy may integrate play-based and art psychotherapy approaches, providing a safe and supportive space to explore emotions, relationships, and life experiences.
This service may be helpful for:

Anxiety, worries, fears, or separation difficulties

-
Identity, self-esteem, family relationships, or adolescent developmental challenges
-
Children or young people who would benefit from a consistent therapeutic relationship
*Suitability for individual counselling is determined following an Initial Assessment. In some cases, parent consultation, family counselling, or VIPP may be a more appropriate form of support.
Initial Assessment
An Initial Assessment includes a 50-minute child session, a 40-minute parent feedback session, and a personalised planning report. Based on the assessment, the counsellor will recommend the most appropriate next step, which may include individual counselling, parent consultation, family counselling, VIPP, referral, or other professional support.
